Barry Larkin, my personal favorite baseball player back in the day, was announced as the lone 2012 Baseball Hall of Fame Inductee. Larkin was class, determination, hit the ball the other way, legged out triples, made plays in the field, hit for power when
needed and could have probably spot started (kidding) if necessary for the Reds. He did it all.

He played the game the
right way. I have a lot to say about Larkin and his induction, and hope to take a day to catch up on my memories of one of my all time favorites. Until then, check out a little throwback from an article in 1990 on Barry Larkin coming out of his cocoon.
from the Oct. 7, 1990 Cincinnati Enquirer
22 year old Barry Larkin...... (click to read)
1990 was a special year for Larkin, myself and a few of my friends that made the road trip to see the Reds win Game One of the 1990 World Series. They continued on to sweep the A's in an improbable upset of the Bash Bros or Steroid Bros or as Fuzzy Zoeller would say "whateverthehelltheycallthoseguys."
And to my Pirate friends...yes, it was the Pirates the Reds beat that year to advance to the World Series.
Congrats Barry. This made my week!
Until Next Time,
Craig Turley
